Too busy to stop for gas?
So...I’ve started to notice a pattern about what people say about why they can’t take a Momentum Reset with me.
You may or may not see yourself in the reasons listed here.
And while these are all particular to Momentum Reset, I think you'll find that you might be saying these same things about a lot of areas in your life.
So what I want to point out is that often, we end up playing mind games with ourselves where we convince ourselves that something is true.
And the first step in fixing that, is recognizing that you're doing it.
So here are the top 5 reasons I hear, and my gut checks for each of them...
(⬇️ Btw, watch instead of reading, or read on below.)
|
1) "I have so much to do right now, I don't have time to stop and plan."
Most people who run with me already know my gas analogy...
I have an appointment on my calendar every Sunday to go to the gas station, fill up my car—no matter what the tank says—and get my car washed.
When I do that, I can run like clockwork the rest of the week.
So when you say you don't have time to stop, it’s like saying you’re too low on gas to pull over and...get gas!
Pull over, get the gas you need, and let's get running again.
2) "I’ll come to the next one after things calm down a bit."
Ah, the 'Someday Syndrome.' I say this with so much love in my heart...
'Calm' isn't a season. It's never gonna come.
'Calm' is a structure you build (and that’s exactly what we do at Momentum Reset).
3) "I just got a beautiful planner in January. I have it open now and it’s all ready; I have a plan. It’s amazing. I’m good."
I love a good planner - I have some beautiful ones, too! My calendar is incredible.
But we’re not just checking off to-do's in a planner here. We're not just going through the motions of organizing and making thing pretty.
We’re going to align your vision with intentional steps that are going to take you in the direction of the momentum you've been wanting.
4) "I can do this by myself. I’ll take a personal day and get it figured out on my own."
For this one, all I have to say is: How’s that going for you? (No snark, just an honest, direct question.)
The reality is, we believe the lie that we can do these things on our own.
If we could, we already would’ve done it!
There is something truly miraculous that happens when we link arms, reserve that time, and show up in the same space to take action together.
5) "I need to get my ducks in a row before I show up to a reset."
I’m here in my own 'messy middle' right now, leaving you a video about the top 5 reasons people don’t do a Momentum Reset...because even I need them as well!
That’s why I host them once a quarter. That's why I spend time with my own coach.
The reset IS the 'row'. And I don’t care what your ducks are doing!
It's not about showing up having it all together. It's about embracing the messy middle and figuring out what’s going on.
So those are the top 5 reasons I hear about why people avoid taking a Momentum Reset, along with my 'Dawn' responses.
I would love to see you stop waiting for the perfect time, and jump into a Momentum Reset with us so you can head in the direction of your dreams.
There are so many incredible things that happen in that room—things that I could never expect or even quantify or qualify in words. We have one every quarter in Week 10 and Week 11, and I would love to see you at the next one.
AND - if you have a different excuse than one of the top five I gave you, I wanna hear it! Hit reply and let me know.
Otherwise, I’m looking forward to linking arms and doing life with you at the next Momentum Reset!
All my best,
Dawn
