Before October slips away, read this
BLUF
- The Reality: Between holidays and year-end events, Q4 evaporates and life happens to you faster than any other quarter
- The Action Step: Pause this week to name your heart's desires, block your non-negotiables, and protect your time before the holidays hit
BLUF = Bottom Line Up Front
On paper, all four quarters are pretty much the same length. ~90 days altogether. ~60 days if you strike weekends.
In reality? The fourth quarter is the shortest, most compressed season of the entire year.
Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and a calendar full of related parties and events (and everything there is to do in relation to said parties and events), the weeks evaporate before we even realize it.
Let's be generous and say quarter 4 actually has ~70 days. And if you strike weekends? Oof.
Many of us just give up and let this time of year happen to us.
But here's what I know to be true...
⬇️ Btw, watch instead of reading, or read on below.

Not intentionally thinking about how you want this last months to go...robs us of the ability to live out what matters most.
Something will happen with your time over the next 90 days.
But without an intentional plan, you risk finally coming up for air in January wondering where the season went—and whether you actually spent it on what was in your heart.
As we step into this final stretch of 2026, give yourself permission to pause this week and ask:
- What is my heart’s true desire for this quarter? Have you actually named what you want your holidays, relationships, experiences, and year-end to look like?
- What needs to be guarded and protected? If your non-negotiables aren't actively blocked on your calendar, the rush of the season will claim that space for you.
- Who do you need to make space for? Have you blocked out time for the people and personal/professional goals you promised yourself you would prioritize this year?
Don't just let these last few months happen to you. Decide ahead of time where you want to land, so you arrive at the destination you actually desired.
Love doing life with you,
Dawn
PS - Curious: Where are you reading this right now? In bed? Over breakfast? Over lunch? At your desk? In line for coffee? Somewhere else? I'd love to know.
