Tired of being responsible for everything?

A client of mine confessed to me in the past that he wasn't really a "coaching guy."

He was skeptical of outside agendas—and honestly, that’s fair. But he took the leap with me anyway.

Recently I was sitting in a 1-to-1 with him. He's a CEO of a large organization with a lot of moving parts...including leading over a hundred team members.

I’d had the privilege of sitting on their leadership team, doing 1-to-1 coaching, and hosting corporate events for them. High-level work with high stakes.

So we were looking at the data from Q1, and we'd hit the 25% mark for their miraculous goal for the year. (Huge!)

I asked him how he felt about their progress, and he said something I think every leader needs to hear...especially if you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying the entire weight of the business on your shoulders.

(⬇️ Btw, watch instead of reading, or read on below.)

Tired of being responsible for everything?

He looked at me and said the organization is "further ahead than we’ve ever been at the end of quarter one."

I started to congratulate him. I said, “That’s incredible. You guys are doing the heavy lifting..."

And then he said it: "Dawn, I can feel the weight being lifted from the other pieces of the puzzle."

He called our work together one of the best investments he’s ever made...because he’s finally seeing his people turn into amazing leaders.

➡️ Weight was lifted from him having a partner (me) to help shoulder the burden

➡️ Even more weight was lifted through his people becoming amazing leaders

Leaders are a very distinct species of employee. They exude (and drive) initiative. Vision. Motivation. Accountability. Decision-making.

And that means you're no longer rolling a boulder uphill by yourself.

When an organization of that size hits their miraculous goal—not just their baseline, but their miraculous goal—during a difficult season (like so many of us these days), it’s not an accident.

It's what happens when you decide to invest in the leadership capacity of your team.

If you’re leading a large team, a small team, or maybe you're just trying to lead yourself!...

... and you're tired of being the only one responsible for the thinking, and the deciding, and the results...

I’d love to help you find that same relief.

  • If you want to dive into this together, you can explore my upcoming workshops and events here.
  • Or, if you’re ready to talk about 1-to-1 or Consulting support, reach out here.

Let's see what we can take off your plate...and your shoulders...and your mind.

Love doing life with you,

Dawn

The "unknown tax" you’re probably paying
I realize we're all in tax mode, so this isn't the type of tax you're probably thinking about right now. But it's a tax nonetheless. In life, when we decide to say 'yes' to something, there's almost always some unknown "extra" connected to it that we don't know realize we're also saying yes to. I might say yes to something and initially think, "Yeah, I can totally do that on Saturday!" But late...
The missing ingredient for moving the needle
Have you ever felt like you’re playing a constant game of whack-a-mole in your life and biz? You’re working hard—maybe 60+ hours a week—but it feels like you’re trying to catch rain in your hands. It’s exhausting, it’s maddening, and frankly, it’s no way to build a life or a career you actually enjoy. I see this all the time when I walk into workshops. Busy professionals show up to get all the ...
Stop the solo struggle today
I’ve been spending some time thinking about "the gap." The gap is that space between where you're standing right now, and your big goals. When we see a gap like that, our first instinct is usually to put our heads down and try to out-hustle the distance all by ourselves. But if I’m being honest, that’s usually exactly where momentum stalls. Here’s a little "real talk" without the shame: You are...
