How to stop flying through storms

So, I recorded this video two weeks ago on a day that was absolutely beautiful outside for February, after a period of cold and snow.

And since then, it's been cold, cold, cold and snow, snow, snow all over again.

I'm kinda glad I didn't get this out to you right away, because now it makes the sentiment of this post even more relevant.😆

That sentiment? Missing a prompting can really set some storms swirling around you. (And worse...repeated storms.)

How to stop flying through storms

Lately I've been thinking about two ideas:

  1. That there is an order to things & a time and place when things occur.
  2. That you need to take one step, before you can take the next.

What relates to both of these things?

Promptings. Getting prompted to do something (and then doing it).

Now the big question: Have you ever ignored a prompting?

You're like, "Eh, I'll handle it later." And then you put it off.

So anyway...now a little segue about birds. Stick with me a sec.

Prior to recording this video, all this really cold weather had come in. And there were some poor birds out here trying to figure it all out.

Not a ton. Just a few. Because most birds were already gone for the season.

And that made me think about promptings. (Or rather, ignoring them.)

Birds are prompted to leave an area in advance of cold weather coming.

But if they don't take action and leave when they're prompted, or maybe they get too comfortable because the weather's still nice...

...the risk is, they end up flying in crazy storms they never had to be in. Or desperately trying to find food.

All because they didn't take action on the initial prompting.

They knew what they were supposed to be doing, but they put it off.

And then suddenly, they're in a not-so-great position.

Ever been there? Like, "I don't like this position. I shouldn't have waited."

So I'm looking at this in my own life, and I also wanna ask you:

  • Where in life have you missed (or are missing) a prompt?
  • Where in life did you fail (or are failing) to do the thing you need to do?
  • Where in life did you fail (or are failing) to fly south?

And now as a result, you've got increased pressure and stress in your life. Or...you're about to.

So now back to point #2 I mentioned above:

You have to take one step, before you can take the next.

  • Is there an area in your life where you need to take action on something?
  • What would it look like for you to take one step forward on that today?

Then what is the next thing you need to do to take you further on that path, so you're finally heading south?

Just one foot (or wing flap🪽) in front of the other.

As proven after initally recording this video on a lovely, warm February day...the next storm could be right around the corner.

Love doing life with you. Hit me up and let me know what you need to take a step forward on. Makes it real!

Be blessed,
Dawn

Too busy to stop for gas?
So...I’ve started to notice a pattern about what people say about why they can’t take a Momentum Reset with me. You may or may not see yourself in the reasons listed here. And while these are all particular to Momentum Reset, I think you'll find that you might be saying these same things about a lot of areas in your life. So what I want to point out is that often, we end up playing mind games w...
It’s not the big obstacle. It’s the small leaks.
I often invite other coaches and professionals in similar industries as me to sit in on my Momentum Reset workshops to give me feedback. And without fail, each time even they (coaches themselves!) leave finding clarity on something that has been getting in their way. Funny enough, it's usually the same things getting in the way for everyone: I call it leaking.  We think we aren’t taking ground ...
Why you're actually stuck
So often, we confuse movement with "taking ground." Like you're trying to run a race in storm, but are so busy dodging downed branches and fixating on the squelching in your shoes that you veer off the main path...away from the finish line. You're moving, but you're not getting to where you need to be. Most of the time, not taking ground isn't from lacking motivation; it's because we’re overloa...
