Are weedy thoughts choking what you want to grow?

We're heading into winter soon so wanna tell this story real quick while it's still relevant.

So...Once a week the lawn people come and mow my yard.

And right after they mow, everything looks so good, and even, and level...

But by the next morning, inevitably, a weed has shot up out of nowhere.

How do they come up so fast?

It's truly maddening.

In fact, I put grass seed down earlier this year wanting to grow a nice lush carpet of green, and that was a complete failure.

(Of course, I didn't tend to it as instructed and that's totally on me.)

But weeds, man? They certainly don't need any help.

Just like in life and business, right?

We're always getting weeds that pop up faster and easier than the grass that we're trying to grow.

(⬇️ Btw, watch instead of reading, or read on below.)

So I want to encourage you think about that with regard to your business or life. Or even (or especially) your mind.

Are your thoughts like weeds? Choking out the good stuff you're trying to grow?

The temptation is to be like, oh well, it'll be fine.

Or maybe you just don't have time or the energy to deal with your weeds right now.

Or maybe they're the type of weeds you even want to embrace.

But most weeds...we're gonna want or need to pull them out eventually.

And when you do, you're gonna wanna try to get it by the root.

Because if you don't get the root? That weed's gonna be back shortly.

But if you can't get the root...don't give up. Pull out the part you can see for now, and just keep after it.

So -

  • What weeds do you need to pull in your life and biz?
  • Are there things you've allowed to grow unchecked, too long?
  • Is there grass you've been SO focused on growing that you haven't even noticed all the weeds choking it out?

So anyway, wanted to leave you with that today. I hope you're:

A) Noticing the weeds
B) Pulling them out (by the root if you can)
C) Paying attention to whether there are areas in your life where you need grass to grow.

And then do something about that.

If you need help with any of that, please reach out.

You could Pick-My-Brain, you could jump into a Momentum Reset (early bird ends in less than 6 days!).

I'd love to hear about weeds you're pulling, or grass you're growing.

You're getting charged for this habit...and you probably don't even realize it
We all drag our feet sometimes. Maybe you keep pushing off cleaning all the leaves out of the gutter. Or just can't get around to re-securing a loose button on a shirt.  Or can't summon the energy to catch up with family or friends. Avoidance feels pretty trivial. After all, you'll just "get around to it eventually," right? But...have you ever thought about what it's costing you? The ...
Filling the gap between who you are and who you want to be
Recently I've been talking about the idea of AAA. When I start a coaching relationship with someone, I spend a lot of time asking questions.  Sometimes uncomfortable questions. Like, "Hey, so what got in the way of you doing that?" And the aswer is usually something like, "Well, I don't know. There's just a lot going on." "Like what?" (I'm not judging what happened. I just need to kno...
Before you fix the 'how,' you need to fix the 'what'
There's a billboard on one of my drives that keeps catching my attention. It says "We fix bad vision." (I think it catches my attention because as a coach, I usually try to encourage people to say things in a more positive or affirming way: "We help you see better" or "We help you see again.") Anyway, when it caught my attention the other day, I realized "Hey, I kind of do that too." ...
