Landing doesn't mean you can't relaunch
A client once sent me a testimonial, and in it they said...
"When you start a journey and you don't have direction, you may never reach your destination."
Makes sense, right?
Yet so often in business and in life, we start a journey without a direction.
We get ideas from the ether. Or a podcast. Or a book.
Or maybe some friends or colleagues start doing something, and it looks like it's working for them. (So why not you?)
So all too often without much of a second thought, we just launch another plane in the air...up with all the other planes we have flying around.
And that's fine. It's good to try things, and overthinking can get us stopped.
Just remember: In your life and business, you're the air traffic controller.
And when you send planes up, you also can't forget about ones that need to come down.

Often we have a lot of planes in the air, at a lot of different stages of flight.
Some are running out of fuel.
Or the pilots and crew are past their max flight hours.
Or there aren't enough flight attendants up there to take care of things.
So here's my call-to-action for you. Start thinking about being the air traffic controller of your life and business.
As the air traffic controllers of our lives and businesses, our bodies take the impact and overwhelm of too many planes in the air.
So assess what planes you have in the air, and ask yourself...
- Who's tending to them?
- Do they need anything?
- Is stormy weather on the way?
- Are they about to run out of fuel?
- Are any of them running out of resources?
- Are they working like they're supposed to?
- Are they on a collision course with your other planes?
- Are they headed toward and landing at the right destination?
- Is there an unscheduled 'pop-up' flight that's gotten in the way?
If the answer's yes to any of these, let's maybe look at landing some planes for at least a period of time...for safety's sake.
We can always send them back up after they've had a little maintence done, the congestion has cleared, or the crew's fresh to re-man them.
So if you feel like your inner air traffic controller is screaming at you, here are some things you can do:
👉 Brain dump all the planes you have flying right now. Or do a brain dump together with your family. Or together with your team.
👉 Look at everyone thinks they're doing. i.e. your kids vs your partner vs you. Or what everyone on your team thinks they're doing.
👉 Gather all that info up and figure out what can be streamlined, what can be eliminated, or what fits better with what others are doing.
Get some accountability around you to help land and fix those planes, whether friends or others headed in the same direction as you.
Or maybe look at reaching out to a coach to help you land some planes...
I have a few different options on my site to fit whatever stage you're at:
🗓️ Some upcoming workshops and events - some are free and some are getting ready to help us launch into the next year.
🧠 'Pick My Brain' sessions - We can have a quick chat to help you land some of those planes, or decide which ones to get off the ground
🚀 1:1 or Team Coaching - Get more direct help thoughtfully landing and launching planes for you or your team
Whatever you do, just make sure you know what's happening in your airspace. (And remember: Landing doesn't mean you can't relaunch!)
Love doing life with you,
Dawn
PS - Would love to hear how many planes you have in the air, if you're intending to land some of them...or if you have some fresh ones taking off!
