📝 Here's your homework:
- Get 2 pieces of paper
- Write 'Personal' at the top of one, and 'Professional' on the other
- On each, write answerS to the following question:
❓➡️ "If we were having a conversation one year from today and you were OVER-THE-MOON excited, WHAT HAPPENED (personally/professionally) in the last year?"⬅️❓
Ideally, this is not a one-time brain dump thing...
Baseline (you're going to hear me talk about that): It's, well...a one-time brain dump thing! You do what you can and show up with your pieces of paper.
Amazing: You put your lists together the week of the event, putting some thoughts on it over a few different sessions, and show up with your pieces of paper.
Miraculous: You get your pieces of paper out RIGHT NOW and keep them handy up till the day of the workshop. And every time something pops into your mind and you're like, "Ooh, that's something I'd like to see myself do in the next year," you write it down, and show up with your pieces of paper.
So, think about it. A year from now...what's changed...what got different...what looks the way you've always wanted it to look?
Here's what NOT to do:
- Don't think about reasons why you can't do it.
- Don't think about whether you can do it.
- Don't think about how you're gonna do it.
- Don't think about if you can afford to do it.
- Don't think about if you have the right people on your team to do it.
- Don't think about if you have the right people at your house to do it.
I just want you to focus on the 'WHAT', okay?
What. do you. want?
Then just remember to bring it with you! This little exercise will do a LOT to give you a head start in our work together.
PS - If you are struggling to think about what you want in your life personally and professionally, here are some ideas to kickstart your brain. What do you want in the following areas?
- Faith
- Family
- Financial
- Social
- Community
- Fun
